How do I get a copy of the information from my felony conviction?

04/29/2009 - Criminal - State: WV #16469

Full Question:

I requested court records or a statement from the court, and then an explanation as to the drug, amount, and means of distribution for which I was convicted. This was back in 1990-91 in the state of West Virginia. The case was tried in Wheeling (federal) court. How do I go about getting these records and/or information?

Answer:

A criminal conviction is a matter of public record.

I suggest contacting the clerk of courts at the following:

District Clerk's Office Clerk, U. S. District Court 1125 Chapline Street P.O. Box 471 Wheeling, WV 26003 (304) 232-0011 (304) 233-2185 (Fax)
