04/14/2009 - Divorce - State: GA #15982
Full Question:
What forms to file for divorce by publication, or uncontested divorce with 2 minor children, and what would be the fees for child support? I live in Georgia and I am requesting information for Apache, OK. If I can't request this info from Ga., then by all means us my city and state.
Answer:
The party filing for divorce must have been an actual and bona fide resident of the State of Georgia for at least six months prior to the filing of the petition for divorce and such divorce action shall be filed in that party's county of residence. If the filing party is a non-resident of the State of Georgia and the other spouse has been a resident of the state for six months, the filing party may file the petition in the county in which the other party resides.
The party filing the divorce action must have been a resident of the State of Utah and a resident of the county where the divorce is filed for at least three months prior to the filing of divorce. Local court rules, which vary by court, apply to publication standards, such as the time length and circulation requirements, so i suggest calling the clerk of courts.
