While pending a divorce can my spouse take out any loans or do anythng with your name. ETC 2nd mortgage on house, etc.
Generally, unless the court has ordered the spouse not to take actions, a spouse may do any act authorized while married until the divorce is finalized. Separation from your spouse doesn’t relieve you of liability for any debts incurred during this time. You should cancel joint accounts and write letters to the creditors notifying them of the pending divorce and that you are no longer liable for the account. Note, however, the creditor can still legally attempt to collect from you. Both parties should cancel joint accounts and transfer balances to new cards in each person’s name.
