Is there a way around getting my daughter's father to sign for her Driver's permit?
Full Question:
I have physical custody and joint legal custody of my fifteen year old daughter.
She wants to get a driving/learning permit from DMV, but DMV requires both parents signature if there is any joint custody.
The problem is her father (my ex) does not sign the permit because my daughter refused to meet/visit him after their argument about a year ago.
Even though I made my daughter apologize to him, he still refuses to sign the paper.
My question is: if only I sign the DMV's form to get the permit and provide insurance for my daughter, would that be legal enough? Could her father still cause problems regarding this matter? If this is not legal, what is the course of action that I should take?

Answer:
If the DMV won't accept only your signature, you might inquire if they would accept you as the agent appointed by the father's Power of Attorney to sign for him.
