I was convicted of a DUI in Rhode Island last year. I have one year remaining on my suspension. I moved to Fall River, Mass., 4 months ago. Am I eligible to receive a hardship license to go to work?

Answer:
Unless your sentence said otherwise, Rhode Island does not have a
provision for a hardship license. Massachusetts will allow a hardship license
after 90 days for an administrative license suspension. Since you had a
driver's license from Rhode Island at one time, you can go to any
Massachusetts RMV location and apply to have your license transferred to
Massachusetts. You can find the RMV branch closest to you at
