How can my daughter drop a class and not be held truant from class?
My daughter, a High School Senior. who turned 18 December 29, 2008 wants to drop a class not needed for graduation, but the school is refusing and threatening to ID her as truant. Why is a parental signature still needed at school for our grandaughter who is 18?
In Reno,Nevada, the high school our daughter attends demands that a document be signed from us in order for her to write her own excuses for absences. She is 18. What is the penalty for a parent charged with truancy?
My 2nd grader has 17 days of unexcused absences. I notified the school when he was going to be out for vacation with family or sick. Never warned of legal action. My mother has a court apperance on the 11th of March charging her with a violation of section E48293, somthing to do with the compulsory education law).
