Do I still have to pay child support if I terminate my parental rights?

Full Question:

After your petition for signing over your parental rights is granted, do you still have to pay child support?

Answer:

I suggest calling the clerk of courts for the precise terms of the order. Typically, termination of parentage means the person no longer has a duty to support the child. However, past due child support may still be owed.
