What action can I take to have my security deposit returned?
Full Question:
On October 21 2007 I was diplaced due to a tenant fire. The building's 3rd floor was completely destroyed. I lived on the 2nd floor. I did not have rental insurance. The ownership of this property had been changed a few months ago and I have been awaiting a new lease agreement form this new property management company. I had left numerous messages to a voicemail, to no avail. Now the building is just about condemned and I do not have acccess to get what remains of my belongings. The new owner had finally called and advised he cannot be available this weekend. But will have someone there for an hour. This is not acceptable with my schedule and he is also not willing to return my deposit. What actions are there that I may take, if any.
