Employees are allowed up to four hours unpaid time off to vote. The statute requires a reasonable amount of leave time but states that it can not be less than four hours. The employee must give the employer notice prior to Election Day. The employer may specify the time off given to the employee. Kentucky law allows an employer to discipline an employee if time off to vote is taken but no vote is cast. (Ky. Rev. Stat. Ann Section 118.035; Ky. Const. Section 148).
