The only access to my property is the private property behind my land which the owner locked

Full Question:

We have lived behind private property for 24 years. The owner of the property has let us put our own lock on the gate to get in and out. He has now told us we can't use the road anymore and has locked our lock out. This is the only reasonable way in and has been used for 50 years to get in and out of this place. Can he do this?

Answer:

When you say lived behind private property, do you mean you live on your property and that the only access is through another's property? If so, I assume your land is landlocked. If this is the case there is a procedure to grant you access. You should contact the County or an attorney there for assistance.
