How Dan I Get a Replacement Social Security Card if I Don't Have a Drivers License?
Full Question:
How do I get a photo ID other than a drivers license or non-drivers to get a new SS Card?I don't drive. I have an expired Non Drivers License,and I lost my SS card long ago. I do have a marriage license, and my Husband has a NYS Drivers License and a SS card. We have joint bank accounts, and we own our house and land together. Can we get a Notary to certify him, and then can he certify me?

I'm assuming you were born in the U.S. As proof of identity Social Security must see your:
U.S. driver’s license;
State-issued nondriver identification card; or
U.S. passport.
If you do not have one of these specific documents or you cannot get a replacement for one of them within 10 days, they will ask to see other documents, including:
Employee ID card;
School ID card;
Health insurance card (not a Medicare card); or
U.S. military ID card.
All documents must be either originals or copies certified by the issuing agency. They cannot accept photocopies or notarized copies of documents.
