The answer depends on where you live and what regulations, or covenants apply. The laws governing this issue may include a City Ordinance, if you live in a City, a County Law, usually enacted by the Board of Supervisors in your County in Mississippi, or restrictive covenants if you live in a subdivision with restrictive covenants, or deed restrictions contained in your deed. There could be other State laws that apply but these are the most common.
