How do I correct something wrong on my credit report?
Full Question:
I had an outstanding bill owed to the gas company that went to collections and was paid by me to the collection company over 2 years ago. When I went to get the gas bill put in my name at my new residence I was told that the bill was still out standing. I have proof of payment in the form of a reciept from the collection agency. What can be done to correct it with them and on my credit report?
Also, when my girlfriend and I broke up I moved out but trying to be civil didnt turn the phone(in my name) off. It is now a year later and she has never paid the bill. I dont want to sue her. Is there any way she can assume responsibility for the failure of payment?
