Is it possible to restore my name same as when I was unmarried upon annulment?
My husband and I live in Ohio. We are getting our marriage annulled. I had changed my name after our marriage. Is it possible to restore my name same as when I was unmarried upon annulment?12/31/2016 | Category: Divorce » Annulment | State: Ohio | #29188
This is stated in ORC Ann. §3105.34. It reads:
“If the court determines that a marriage is void or that a judgment of nullity ought to be granted, the court may in its discretion, and regardless of whether or not a request therefor was included in the prayer of the complaint as a part of such judgment, restore any name that the person had before the marriage.”
Therefore, your name may be restored upon annulment per ORC Ann. §3105.34.
