Does a Lease Need to Be Witnessed or Notarized?
Full Question:
Hi, I live in Missouri and my wife and I would like to rent our house out. I was curious what papers I need to legally do this? I put down a 1 year lease but do I need a notary for the lease? I would just like to know what papers I need for renting our place out and if someone has to be a witness to the lease being signed, thank you.

Answer:
The most common type of forms involved in a rental is a lease, with provisions for a security deposit to cover any damages. You may also desire to obtain a consent to conduct a background check from the tenant. The forms do not need to be witnessed or notarized.
