I am a resident of North Dakota. My boyfriend and I decided to marry. We want to apply for marriage license. My boyfriend is a chronic drunkard. Will we get marriage license if he is intoxicated by liquor at the time of application for marriage license?

“A license for marriage may not be issued to anyone under the influence of intoxicating liquor at the time of making application therefor. No marriage ceremony may be performed when either or both of the contracting parties is under the influence of intoxicating liquor or any narcotic drug.”
In the instant case, you cannot avail a marriage license marriage license if your boyfriend is intoxicated by liquor at the time of application for marriage license.
