How Do I Locate a Power of Attorney I Want to Revoke?
Full Question:
A relative and I did a powerof atty. when I was not well and had cancer. I am now well and I am very unhappy. I live in CA and he is in NY. I do not know where the papers are filed and do not have a copy. How do I proceed? I know it cause major family problems but I feel I must do this to have financial control of my accounts.
It is likely he will not give me a copy so where do I obtain one?

If I understand correctly, you seek a copy of the power of attorney, but also wish to revoke it. A power of attorney isn't always required to be filed, but it may be on file at the county recorder's office in the county where any land involved with the POA is situated. Another government agency, such as the tax board may have a copy on file. You do not necessarily need to have a copy of the power of attorney in order to revoke it. Rather, you can simply complete a revocation form to revoke the power of attorney. A copy of the revocation should be given to the agent.
