Answer:
The executor is personally responsible for the payment of all of the decedent's bills and taxes to the extent of the estate's assets. Therefore, if the estate's assets are distributed to anyone other than (1) the decedent's creditors and (2) the decedent's beneficiaries, the executor can be held personally liable.
