What state's age of majority governs a child support agreement--the one it was ordered in or the state the child lives in?
Background--My California child support decree requires support to be paid to the mother until the 'age of majority.' . After age of majority the support is to be paid directly to the child for college, which I have done since age 18. Following divorce my child grew up in NY. I just now found out that the age of majority in NY is 21 not 18 like CA. Was this incorrect? Which age of majority defines the agreement--CA or NY?
