CLass Action Settlement in Oregon
Full Question:
I was part of a Class Action Settlement where I was entitled to 100% of my school tuition reimbursed less attorney fees and number of claims. The pay out was at 9.92% which is a considerable difference? I feel like I've just been ripped off, what are your thoughts and/or suggestions?

Answer:
A class action settlement needs to be approved by the judge presiding in the case. The ultimate payment to plaintiffs may vary according to the nature of the plaintiff's claim. It is possible for certain plaintiffs to be awarded different amounts than others. The amount the plaintiffs receive is often reduced by items such as attorney fees and court costs. I suggest obtaining a copy of the settlement agreement and reading it carefully to determine whether you are entitled to further reimbursement.
