Am I still required to pay child support during the summer visitation?
Full Question:
My ex and I were divorced September of 2006 under GA law. I pay child support for one child and live out of state. I was inquiring if during my summer visitation rights when my son is with me, am I still required to pay child support for the time my ex is not supporting the child.

Answer:
Unless the Judgment or Divorce Agreement states otherwise, the child support payments continue. It would be rare for provisions to state that child support payments cease during summrr visitation. There are many reasons for this, but generally many expenses for the benefit of the children continue while the children are away.
