Cab a separation agreement made before reconcilitation be effective.
Full Question:
Two years ago, my husband and I planned to separate, and, had a separation agreement which was recorded at the courthouse. In the agreement, my husband agreed to pay me $700.00 a month. I had chosen the separation agreement because he is retired military and we have both medicare and tricare for life. I have numerous health issues, so, I felt this was the best route to take. We ended up reconciling for about two years, but, it is not working as he is an alcoholic, and womanizer, and a sociopath. Live is very difficult for me, and, I have decided to put the agreement in force. Since we had lived together during this time, I did not collect the $700 a month. Before I actually move, which I hope to do next month, I would like to amend the agreement to make the $700 an automatic deposit to my account. Otherwise, I doubt if he will pay it.
