What is the proper process for terminating my lease since the company I work for is transferring me?
Full Question:
I have been a tenant of this building for 3 years and always signed a 1 year lease. My lease is up this month. I know I will be moving out of the country in 2 months and asked my mgmt company what to do? They told me to cross out term 12 months and write in 1 month, sign the lease and send it back. That does not seem right. Shouldn't I have something that says they approve a one month extention or something?

If they accept the revised lease, it is a binding contract. It is the other party's right to choose not to accept the changes.
