Can a 17 year old, who will be 18 in 7 months get emancipated? Her mother died in Indiana where the child lived. She will receive $553 a month in death benefits. She does not want to move to Illinois to live with her father. Can she become emancipated and live with family in Indiana? Which state will she need to file in?
