How do I obtain a construction lien?
My husband is a contractor who owns his own business. A builder hasn't paid our company in 3 months. He has completed the work for this builder and still hasn't been paid in 3 months. How do we go about putting liens on the work completed?

Our company did plumbing repair work for an individual home owner for over $650.00. We were given a credit card that was not valid, we were then told the home owner would send a check the following day. That was 6 weeks ago. We have tried to contact them by phone and they do not return our calls. Would it be in our best interest to put a contractors lien on the property?
