Can we put baby's father on the birth certificate without giving the baby his last name?
My daughter (16 yrs old) is expecting a baby in December. My daughter and the baby's father want to continue to date and he wants to be a part of the baby's life. My question is.. Can we put him on the birth Certificate as the father without giving the baby his last name? My husband and I had our first baby before we were legally married. At the baby's birth my husband thought that my maiden name had to go on the birth certificate. I am a British citizen living with my husband who is American in Arkansas. Both of my children, aged 8 and 11, are British as my husband is there stepfather.
