If my husband dies, does his family have any claim to our house if we don't have a will?
My fiance and I bought a house together. If he dies, does his family have any claim to our house?? We do not have a will.

My question is this, the property across from us has clearly been abandoned. The homeowners packed up in a matter of 2 days and haven't been back since. There are cars and farm equipment left behind. Is there away to prove abandonment and also a way to claim the property, if abandonment is proven?
